Why A Habit Is More Dependable Than Inspiration

Forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable than Inspiration…

Have you ever wondered, how successful people keep getting more successful?

People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward spiral that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Do you ever feel crippled by A.N.Ts — the Automatic Negative Thoughts you’re having in your life? That’s because the more negative thoughts you’re generating, the more negative feelings you have because your thoughts control your feelings and your feelings control your habits/behaviors and as a result, these bad habits are really holding you back from your greatness, from getting the results that you want. Can you relate to this? Of course, you can…

Here is an example of a negative thought pattern loop — I discovered this years ago:

Our beliefs direct our feelings, our emotions drive us to take action which gives us our results and finally the results feed our original belief. The main stress to the majority of us most of the time is not due to external stimuli, but to the pressure of our own suppressed negative limiting beliefs and thought patterns.

The negative belief loop starts with the Belief — “I am not enough” generates the Feelings: “Sadness, angry, bitter, helpless, and hopelessness” this then control your habit, the action you take — which is nothing, you are mad, helpless and you will not dare take a risk. Well, since you failed to plan, fail to act, you don’t have the results you want. At graduation, Denzel Washington said, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” —  and so you failed and that feeds right back to your belief of “I am a failure, I am not enough, I am not lovable,” and therefore “I can’t accomplish anything.” This will lead to your feeling of sadness, hopeless and the cycle repeats itself all over again. You are now STUCK, in RUT.

Trying to go 100 mph but you have 1 foot on the accelerator and another on the brakes.
